About Us
Halau Kulia I Ka Nu'u aka Ratou Reia Nunui( to strive for the highest ) was formed in 1996 by myself, Lehua Kekahuna ( Kumu ), born and raised on the island of Maui. Hoping to share my knowledge and talent that " Ke Akua" has blessed me with over 30 years being in the entertainment industry. Being a hula dancer at the age of 10 under the direction of my mother Kumu Kamalu Kekahuna Halau O Ma Kau Kau I was privileged to have learned dances of the South Pacific from some of the best performers in the field. Dealing with my disability of having one leg it was a challenge but with the determination and love for all of the different cultural dances I perfected to the best of my ability and now shall past on to my keiki's (children )and haumana (students). There has been a lot of achievements in my life such as being on Hawaii Super kids, Hawaiian Moving Company, Miss Hula Pakahi, and Ripley's Believe It Or Not and performed all over the islands and traveled to Fiji.
But my greatest achievement has been blessed with my sons that now performs with me and keeping our Hawaiian / Polynesian culture dances alive .
Our Halau is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire group is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from performing the best traditional Polynesian Show ever and referrals.
